Dear son,
I have always looked upon you as my source of pride. You have always made my look up in pride. You have lived up to all my expectations. But sometimes, I sense you are unhappy with your life. You have been a source of joy to your mother and me ever since you came into the world so forgive me if I come off as blunt in what I am going to say to you.
In this letter I am going to tell you something that I learnt the hard way in life. Son, accept it. Accept that People will always have life better than you. they will go places better than you ever will. they will go out, meet people and visit exotic places you can only dream about. They will talk about their experience, the 'Rad' party they went to, and this creepily funny guy they met on the plane while you look at your bespectacled face in the mirror wondering if it ever gets any better. Maybe it does, but there is a greater chance it wont.
Who knows?
What can one do?Whine about it?
Sulk? Complain?
No.
You have just got to fight.
Against all odds.
Kismat se ladaayi hai. -- "It is a war against your own fate".
You can not escape things. No you can not. Never. You can just try. Try to make it better. During this, life will push you, trip you over and mock you when you fall down. It is not about who falls. It is about whether and how soon you choose to get up and start walking again. Do not live in denial.
Your kindergarten days are over
Take care,
Your father.
