Bows, Bows, Bows!

I share a love-hate relationship with my hair on most days. At times, it gets so unmanageable I practically have to load it with pins.

Now hair pins, you see, are the most underrated accessory of all. They can make or break your look. One of the most loved hair accessory are bows.
Bows, you see, are cute, feminine and lovable.

I recently came across this startup from Surat -- All about bow.

They provide handmade bow accessories ranging from rings and hairclips to neckpieces and brooches. Since these accessories are handcrafted, each piece is unique--just like you are.

Whats more, these accessories are customisable and very reasonably priced.

They currently operate from instagram at all_about_bow .

Do let me know about what you think of bows, in the comments section below, or on instagram.

Wishing all of my BlogFamily a really Happy New Year. :)

Memories and Health: PaperBoat Drinks

If you ask me, there is a certain zing to having cold drinks in the winters. Although it is often followed by mum's scoldings, its still worth it.

Therefore I was delighted to try these new PaperBoat launches by Hector Beverages.

Paperboat Drinks are ready-to-serve fruit beverages that do not contain preservatives or any added colours.
I am gluten-intolerant, but Paperboat is gluten-free too.
They come in a range of flavours, aamras, jaljeera(my two favourites), kokum, anar and jamun kala khatta.

Whats more, there are sweet little notes at the bottom of every pack!
It is only noticeable if you look for it.

These are available in a retail shop near you. Tell me what you think of them on instagram @toofanibiharireviews :)

My Winter MakeUp Essentials : Lakme and The Body Shop

This is a picture of me wearing the Lakme Absolute Lipstick. To know more about the shade, read below.

Hola Peeps!
The winter is here and these days I am against every initiative that proceeds towards removing my Razaai away from me.

But hey, girls will be girls right? And while the winters are killing us, it is also a great time to wear warm shades of colours and yayy for winter makeup! ^_^

Here, I'm sharing my personal Winter Makeup essentials.

First comes the lipstick.
The Lakme Absolute Lipstick is a treat for lips. Available in a range of colours, I have it in Runway Red which is a slightly mature shade of red and it has great pigmentation. Glides on to the lips and stays on for hours, The Lakme Absolute Lipstick is worth a buy.
Ranges from 350/- to a thousand, depending on the shade you buy.

The Lakme Rose Powder is a light weight Rose Powder and comes in an  easy to carry pack for you to use it on the go. It comes in two shades and is suitable for almost all skin tones. It also has SPF15 sunscreen to protect your face from unwanted UV rays.
Priced at 140/- rupees a pack.

The Lakme Absolute SkinGloss Overnight Mask is a new launch by Lakme and is priced at 599/- rupees a bottle. Though it claims to bring a sheen to your face in the morning, the effects wear off if you wash your face once you wake up. It is better suited if you apply it before going out as the results start showing after 4-5 hours.

Well, this one is my personal favourite of the lot. The Body Shop Cheek And Lip Stain is the perfect solution for people like me who like makeup but do not want to appear made-up. It gives the cheek a healthy shade of red and to the lips, a just-bitten look.
It is made in Paris and therefore may cost a bit but since there aren't many alternatives to cheek stains in India yet, I guess we will have to do with this one.
Priced at 850/- rupees a bottle.

If it is not available in your area, try Nykaa.com .

So these are my personal winter favourites. What are yours?

Nail Knight: Miss Nails

It is December and you know what that means? Shaadi time!

And with all the getting ready and clothes planning, nails hold an important role in whether or not the outfit will be a success.
Is it not common that we go out to buy that one specific shade of pink/red/any other colour, and are unable to find it?

Miss nails has the perfect answer for that..

With shades that range from bright and chirpy to subtle and neutral, MissNails brings to you polishes which are suitable for every need.

Unlike some nailpolishes which leave behind some of their colour when you remove them, MissNails comes off in one go, and can be reapplied almost daily.

Have you tried them? What do you think? Hashtag your pictures #PeevesNails and let me know.

VKare Bio Sciences: Nature's delights in little boxes

In today's day and age, the need for natural and 100% vegetarian items is hardly met. This stands true especially in the case of skincare products, where one depends wholly on what is written on the package. Apart from that, the ones with some potential end up getting so highly priced one just decides to go with the more pocket friendly options

A relatively new venture, VKare Bio Sciences, has taken up the task of providing 100% vegetarian, natural amd HANDCRAFTED skincare items at very reasonable rates.

These items, from lip balms to soaps to bathsalts are all handmade with love and are swift in their results. I would also like to mention the packaging and how each item was delicately wrapped like a gift. These items are perfect as presents for your loved ones.

I tried three items from their range namely:

1. Fushia lip balm- Black Currant

Okay I'll talk first about the product I lovedddd the most. The lip balm. Black Currant scented.
It contains bees wax and sunflower oil as major components. It also has shea butter which is known for its moisturising qualities the world over.

The fushia lip balm is free of parabens and petroleum base, artificial tints and synthetic perfumes. They are priced at the same amount as the other lip balms in the market (Rs.225/-) but provide results considerably better and sooner.

2. Fuschia June Jasmine Bath Salts

The June Jasmine bath salt contains Sea Salt and Dead Sea minerals as major conponents. And while it relaxes, rejuvnates and revivalises your skin and your mind, it is very aptly priced too.

While other products in the market range from 350/- to anywhere near even 1500/- rupees, these bath Salts cost 225/- rupees for 50gms. Sounds like a steal to me!

3. Fuschia Handmade Lemongrass Soap

The lemongrass scent on this soap is heavenly! It is refreshing and uplifting. Perfect for a hot water bath after a long day, these soaps cost 225/- for 100 gm pack.

Apart from their products VKare also provides a good customer care support and swift deliveries of products.
If you love things customised, I'd advise you to try them for yourself. As for me, I'm planning on ordering some more as they have a sale going on at their website.

Skin18: Magic Potion for Faces with different needs

The need for a clean, clear and wrinkle-free face surpasses all accessories and clothings. A radiant and glowing face not only brings out the best in whatever you wear, but also gives you an inimitable confidence.

Talking about radiant faces, I came across this new company Skin18 which provides a range of masks and creams for different age groups and people with different skin needs.

One of the best products in their is the 30 days one-second creams. These creams get absorbed in your skin in just one second to provide results.

The wrinkle tiger, however, has to be the sassiest product in their range. This mask is in shape of a tiger's face, and also has the same patterns! So when you apply it, your face looks like that of a tiger. Creativity, I tell you!!
It lifts wrinkles and gives the skin a youthful glow.

The aloe soothing skin renewal mask contains aloe gel, which is widely popular for its calming properties. Skin18 also provides a cleanser and  an ampoule along with the mask.

The rice wine moisturising and conditioning serum is for people with very dry skins. Rice is known for its fulfilling properties towards the skin, and this product exploits just that.

Apart from the wrinkle lifting and moisturising products, Skin18 also provides white clean active mask with Red Ginseng and glycerine. It replenishes the skin with nutrients and moisture and leaves shiny skin by regenerating.

You can contact them via multiple platforms the details of which are listed below.

Selfie Series: 10 basic tips for beginners.

Hey guys

So the importance of selfie in today's day and age needs no intro. A click on #selfie will garner more than 144 million pictures, and updates every other second.

But amongst all of this, the struggle to click a good selfie without deleting a hundred previous ones, is real.

So I'm starting a selfie series, posting tips to click better selfies to capture that beautiful face of yours, with little to no efforts.

Read on. :D

Tip #1: Experiment with Angles
Tilt your head to the left and then the right as you view yourself on your phone’s screen. For most of us, one side is more attractive than the other. Also, showing off your “best side” is generally more interesting than a straight-on shot, too.

Tip #2: Adjust Your Shoulder Placement
If your shoulders are parallel to the camera, turn them slightly to the left and then slightly to the right, and see what looks best.

Tip #3: Stand in the Light
Pose in an area with beautiful lighting –either inside near a window or outside. Gorgeous lighting = a more flattering selfie. How will you know if the lighting looks good on your face? Hold the phone in front of your face and turn the camera, so you can see yourself. Look at the lighting at that moment. Now, turn 90 degrees. Make note of the lighting. Glance at the background. Turn 90 degrees again. Note the lighting and background. Keep turning until you’re back where you started. Chances are, you will have found a spot with excellent lighting and a decent background. If not, either move to another space or try again at a different time of day. What’s the best time of day to shoot? Ideally, during the magic hour! (The magic hour is actually two hours—one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset).

Tip #4: Pose with Something NewPerhaps, you just got a new pair of glasses. Frame the photo to accentuate your new spectacles. If you recently had your hair cut and colored, show it off in your selfie. Or if you just brought home an adorable puppy, pose with your new furry friend.

Tip #5: Do Something InterestingTake a picture of you engaging in a fun activity—snorkeling in the ocean, sitting on a jet ski, or hiking in Machu Picchu.

Tip #6: AccessorizeThrow on a hat, don a wig, or wear sunglasses.

Tip #7: Express YourselfSmile! Frown. Pout. Or make a silly face (But no, not the duck face!)

Tip #8: Take a Full-Body ShotA full-length mirror works well for this type of selfie shot. Again, angle your body to the left or right, which is generally more flattering than shooting straight on.

Tip #9: Release Your Camera’s Shutter the Easy WayHolding your camera with one hand is more common, but a little trickier to keep it steady and take a photo. With the iPhone, you can quickly and easily take a picture by hitting either the shutter release button or one of the volume buttons.

Tip #10: Extend your Neck Forward
To completely remove any double chin in your photo, and to accentuate your jaw line, extend your neck forward.  This may feel funny, but it will dramatically improve how you look in the photo.  Also, shoot from above. Raise the camera slightly above you and then look up to even further accentuate the jaw.

Fizzles : Fizzy Goblet

I am currently consumed by the trend of bellies. Comfort. Style. And the possibility to be different on every occasion, with every ensemble. They have it all.

Footwears can make or break a look, and juttis/bellies have the capability to go with day, as well as night looks. Its greater for students, who have to run from class-to-class and canteens in between.

I recently stumbled onto this group of jazzy entrepreneurs from Fizzy Goblet. Thing with footwears is, what you like, doesn't fit.. and what fits, you dont like..

Fizzy Gs, as they're popularly known, are HANDCRAFTED, which means each piece is unique, and uses authentic leather which means better fit!

Apart from all that, I really like it when companies pay attention to little detailings. The box, that they provide, is like a treasure box that can be repurposed  in many ways.

You can buy these, and more on

A Systematic Ploy : Dadri Lynching

The recent incidence of literal invasion of a private dwelling space of an individual in Dadri, Western U.P., on the basis of alleged eating habits of the person and his family, has sent the entire country, and beyond, into a shock.

This vicious war against a certain sect of society, founded on fundamentalist percepts of the 'Holy War' by a section of Sangh Parivar really sent me into a scare.

Now, dont get me wrong. I am not a Priyamvada-Bano-Singh, I, infact, am a Hindu Nationalist. A Hindu- by birth, and a Nationalist- by beliefs.

Also, speaking in the for of the aforementioned section of society is like sending out a public invite - to criticise your thinking/ writing/ breathing, you know.

Think about it, What if it were Haider Hussain, instead of Hardik Patel on the podium? Would we be this calm about a man organising a rally of 5,00,000 people, spewing hate speech?

And, when it comes to beliefs, is it really about religion? Or non-tolerance ? Think about it, a man was killed because the killers believed he ate beef. Tomorrow, a jain might be justified to lynch my house for eating chicken. Gujratis might murder Punjabis for eating onions. What will this world come to? Why is it okay, infact, to kill a screaming chicken and to boil and eat it, but NOT a cow or pig?

These self claimed government-agents and order-maintainers of the society, ordering- dont eat this, dont go out at night, produce more children- they just help in making people agitate against each other for personal practices.

These perpetrators need to be shunned. The PM needs to speak. Something needs to be done.

The very idea of India is in danger.
To be honest, I am kind of scared I might be lynched tonight by Vaishnavs, for liking garlic on my pizza.

Or vegans, for liking cheese on my pizza.

Random Tantrums.

As all of you already know, accessories form a very crucial part of an ensemble.
It can be the deciding factor to see whether a look works or not.

You can either pair traditional clothes with traditional attire ( kurta + jhumkas ) and modern  clothes with modern accessories (maxi dress + tassle earrings and neckpiece)

Alternatively, you can mix and match pieces and outfits. This works especially for modern wears. A mini dress with drop earrings is great idea.

Talking about fusion attires, it isn't very often that you come around a collection of jewellery that involves that perfect combination of being ethnic and modern all in one.

This rather upcoming venture-- Random Tantrum, has various collections with a very interesting theme to each one. Today I've tried a few pieces from their collection, which involves an amazing blend of modern and traditional, along with some chunky pieces, to create accessories that are transitional and can certainly bring quite a difference to your look.

I decided to try a little Bohemian meets festive look, then a girl-next-door look in the other one. You can take a closer look at the jewellery in the pictures below.

You can see all of their collection at the tantrumdiaries.blogspot.com , they have unconventional items like dreamcatcher necklaces as well.

Instagram- @random.tantrum

To order stuff, mail them on info.randomtantrum@gmail.com

Alternatively, 9892891315 for whatsapp is available too.

The jewelleries come in a cute little red box. You can save these to store them as well.

MakeUp Revolution London: Blush Lacquer-Rush Swatch and Review

Blushes form an integral part of makeup routine. They bring about colour and give a healthier, more radiant tone to the skin.

The October FabBag gave its subscribers an option to choose one item of their choice from a list they provided.

I chose the product that is the title of this post. MUR: Blush Lacquer-Rush.

I had been crushing on it for quite some time and had been planning to buy it.

When I recieved the product. It was like meeting your favourite childhood superhero in person.

Firstly, let me show you what the product looks like.

When I first saw the product online, I had expected it to be a long sleek bottle made of glass and quite an amount of product inside.

However the bottle turned out to be plastic and the amount was equal to the first section of my index finger.

See the picture below.

The product is for people who prefer heavy makeup instead of natural. The colour is matte pink and quite a cute shade.
Just a drop is enough to cover 1 side of your cheek.

Its will not give a cheek stain like effect, the MUR: Blush Lacquer-Rush is a product for when you're getting ready for marriage and festivities.

It has a super long stay power and is waterproof too. A drop on either side of apple of your cheeks and your skin looks glowing like never before.

Though the amount of product is relatively less to what I had expected, the product is actually worth the investment.

I will put up a picture in this shade in a while on insta. You can follow me there @toofanibihari

I have been busy with studies for the past couple of days (psst..im lying. I was procrastinating like a pro :-P )

But there's more stuff coming up soon so stay tuned x
